Annual Report-2018-19


Esteemed Chief Guest of the day Sri.R.Venkatesh Kumar,IAS Chairman,VMC,KV & Deputy Commissioner, Kalaburagi. Honorable members of Vidyalaya Management Committee, respected Members of Parents Teachers Association, Media friends, special invitees, parents, colleagues and dear children.

Good evening everybody. It is my proud privilege to present the Annual Report of the activities and achievements of the academic year 2018-19. As the great poet Hellen Keller said “Alone we can do a little, together we can do so much”. Our school also has been sincerely striving hard together by providing right environment for the all-round development of the students.

From the humble beginning in the year 1986 the school has now grown into one of the best KVs in Bengaluru Region. The school has a clean and green campus with an excellent educational ambience, and latest infrastructural facilities for all the 888 students (497 Boys and 391 Girls).

Staff Position: The sanctioned number of staff is 37, out of which 22 regular staff members, remaining 15 staff members on contractual basis. Apart from teaching staff Kannada teacher, Yoga Coach, Sports coach and Computer Instructor also appointed on contractual basis. During this academic year 4 teachers joined. They are Mr.Ganapathi TGT Science, Mr.Gureelal Meena TGT Hindi, Mr.Shrimanth PRT and Mr.Naseeruddin Baba PRT. Two teachers Mr.Sandeep TGT SST and Mrs.Subhadra PRT transferred to KV Anantnag,Srinagar and KV. No.2 Cantt.Belagavi.   

Academic Achievements: The result of class I to VIII was 100%, but Class IX result was 91% and Class X 97%. Kum.Shreya Sakri emerged as a topper out of all CBSE affiliated schools in district Kalaburagi and awarded with a certificate of appreciation by KVS and Rs. 5000/- cash prize for her excellent performance. Eight(8) students Master Anil, Kum. Khushi Rathod, Master. Archit, Master. Rohan, Master Rohan S. Kum Bhagyashree and kum. Sneha Singh got more than 90% and 29 students got more than 70% in Class X.  

Sports and Games: Besides academic excellence our students have taken the school flag high in the field of Sports and Games under the able guidance of Mr VijayaKumar TGT PHE. Five students from our school participated in the KVS national level sports competitions in Table Tennis, Shuttle Badminton. Eleven students performed very well in the regional level and bagged medals. Kum. Vasundhara, Kum. Spoorthi, Kum. Pratibha Patil, Kum. Aditi Joshi, Master Aabhir Saha have bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the Regional level.

CCA: Under Co-Curricular activities many inter house competitions like singing, dancing, painting, quiz etc. were conducted during CCA periods on Saturdays. The First prizes will be given today by Hon’ble Chief Guest of the day.

Scouts and Guides: Under the guidance of Mr Kalyani Chavan, Librarian,Mr.Kalkeri HM and other trained scouts teachers our Scouts and Guides children have been groomed well and have also participated in various scout camps and tests.  In the present unit there are 90 scouts, 109 cubs, 46 Guides and 78 Bulbuls. 9 Scouts and 9 Guides in Tritiya Sopan, & 6 in Rajya Puraskaar have been awarded. Apart from these individual achievements, the unit has conducted many activities like Thinking Day, Bulbul Utsav, Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan, Cycle Rally, Street Plays etc.

Social Science Exhibition: The Vidyalaya had organised school level Social Science Exhibition & participated in the Cluster level competition held at KV, AFS Sambra. Our school students Master. Meghraj of class IX in Spell Bee, Kum. Shubhangi of Class VII for Sanksrit Shloka and Kum. Prateeksha & Kum. Neha of Class X for Quiz bagged three first prizes.  Kum. Shree of Class IX for Solo dance, Kum. Sakshi of Class IX bagged second prizes. The Project work done by Master. Harish of Class X & Master. Sujan Kajjari of Class VII is selected for regional level.

Science Exhibition: Besides school level Science Exhibition, students will take part in the Jawaharlal Nehru National Science Exhibition, which will be held in the month of Jan. 2019 at KV IISc, Bangalore.

Digitalisation of Library: Our vidyalaya library has been digitalized with barcode system services consisting of 8135 books, 40 Periodicals and 4 Daily News Papers. Three computers with net connectivity are available for students use. Under the Dept. of Library various activities like narration, book review and quiz competitions were conducted by the Librarian Mr. Kalyani Chavan to develop reading habits among the children. The Vidyalaya also conducted Library Week and book exhibition from 14th Nov. to 20th Nov. 2018. Our Library has the latest version e-granthalaya (eg4) which is web enabled. Parents and students can have access to it.

CMP: Under the Common Minimum Programme of strengthening of Primary education, the school had organised Mini Sports Day, Baal Divas, Grand Parents Day and Cubs and Bulbuls Utsav, Educational excursion for Primary (Local & Bidar) and Secondary students up to class IX to Yadgir.

Celebrations: Besides all these, the school celebrated the National festivals, Teacher’s Day, Children's Day, Hindi Saptah, National Education Day, Constitution Day, Vigilance Awareness Week, Annual Sports Day, BhashaSangam programme presenting 22 languages in each day one language in the morning assembly with effect from 20.11.2018  to 21.12.2018 etc. in a befitting manner.

Infrastructure Development: The School has very good Infrastructure-2 Computer labs with 60 Computers, 2 e-Class rooms (primary & secondary), LCD Projectors, 6 Smart boards, 2 Visualizers for promoting ICT in teaching learning practice, 3 laboratories (Physics,Chemistry,Biology), 1000 ltrs capacity RO plant for provision of safe drinking water,125 KV Generator to provide uninterrupted power supply, 2 Children Parks for primary Children, 2 basketball courts, 3 Table Tennis tables, Skating rink, Kho-Kho ,Volley ball court and ground to play Cricket. etc.,

Other Initiatives: Under Program partnership with neighbouring Govt. Schools, we had tie up with Govt. Upper Primary School, Kotnoor (D). Invited school children to participate in various programmes and activities & to utilize the facilities available in the Vidyalaya. The School has functional Rain Water harvesting plant & Vermi Compost Plant for conservation of Rain Water & production of Compost manure. The school students and Bharat Scout & Guides are participating in bringing awareness among the public by rallies, street plays etc. on Road safety, Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan, Vigilance awareness, Save Plants & Environment.

Thanks: During this year the Vidyalaya witnessed an overall progress of every child, be it academics, sports, or co-curricular activities in KVS or outside KVS. In all our activities, we have been guided and encouraged by the Chairman VMC Sri R Venkatesh Kumar, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Kalaburagi. I take this opportunity to thank him for his dynamic vision and excellent support. I would also like to place on record my sincere gratitude to Sri Bhimashankar, KAS ADC and Chairman’s nominee for his kind co-operation and support. I must thank Deputy Commisioners Dr.P.Devakumar & Sri. D.T. Sudarshn Rao, KVS RO Bengaluru for their cooperation in all our endeavours. I whole heartedly thank Dr. A. K. Mishra, Mr.V.Rajgopal, Dr.N.Vasanth, Assistant Commissioners, KVS RO Bengaluru for their constant support and guidance.  The members of Vidyalaya Management Committee, Parent Teacher Association have also been extended their valuable support and co-operation in enriching teaching learning experiences and school administration. I sincerely thank all of them for their unstinted support.  I thank all the parents, members of staff, and the students too for their wholehearted cooperation and sincere efforts in making all the activities of the school very successful.                              

  At last but not the least, I would like to quote a line that, “If our actions inspire others to dream more, do more and become more, we are real leaders.”
